A teacher in South Africa, is being criticized after admitting to impregnating his 16-year-old daughter.

Now, the teacher of Mpumalanga, apologized to the public for impregnating his own daughter, saying that he did not know at the time that his student was really his child.

Alfred Mokoena said that he only realized he had been having sex with his own daughter after DNA tests were performed on the baby.

Mokoena said that he preyed on his student because she respected him as her teacher and listened to everything he said.

At the time of the sexual relationship, Mokoena lived in Swalala and taught in Shabalala, where his daughter, Nonhlanhla Nxumalo, now 20, lived with her mother and stepfather.

Nxumalo confirms that she was not aware that Mokoena was her father when they were having sex. She said that her greatest fear was that her child would be disabled because of the incest.

So far, the child is four years old, and is not showing any signs of illness. She did not tell him that his grandfather is really his father.
